Stellate Ganglion Block
Treat parosmia with a stellate ganglion block (SGB).
Parosmia can cause you to lose your sense of smell after COVID-19. Your symptoms may include a persistent unpleasant odor and can cause you to make you feel nauseous when eating. A stellate ganglion block can reduce or eliminate the symptoms of parosmia*.
What is a stellate ganglion block?
A stellate ganglion block is an injection of local anesthetic that blocks the nerves that are part of the sympathetic nervous system in the head and neck region.
Stellate ganglion block can reduce or completely eliminate the symptoms of COVID induced parosmia related to increased sympathetic nervous system activity. The SGB has been clinically proven to treat over active sympathetic nervous system in the head and neck region, returning the automatic nervous system to homeostasis.
