Radiofrequency Rhizotomy (Radiofrequency Neurotomy)
Reduce chronic pain with radiofrequency rhizotomy.
We know it can be frustrating when your discomfort hasn’t responded to treatment. A radiofrequency rhizotomy offers lasting relief from your chronic pain.
What is a radiofrequency rhizotomy?
Radiofrequency rhizotomy treats chronic back pain by eliminating the nerves causing the pain response. Radiofrequency generates localized heat that allows us to reduce your pain without damaging your normal nerve function.
What to Expect from a Radiofrequency Rhizotomy
Before your procedure, we use techniques like MRIs, discography, or CT scan reviews to locate the origin of your pain. Once this cause is clear, we perform the radiofrequency rhizotomy as an outpatient procedure.
You may give feedback to our doctors and staff during the procedure to help them understand how you have been experiencing pain. Once a successful procedure is complete, you will notice improvement in two to four weeks.
